Ellijay City Council meets the third Monday of each month at 6:00 P.M. at City Hall.
Meetings are open to the public with an opportunity for public comment.

MAYOR AL HOYLE, Chairman of the City Council, (email@example.com 706.635.4711×4) is serving his third term as Mayor since 1997.
DAVID WESTMORELAND, Mayor Pro-Tem, has served two terms as city council member, one term as Mayor and is currently serving his second term as Mayor Pro-Tem since his election in 1982.
CHARLES BARCLAY is serving his third term as city council member since his election in 1978
RUTH CAUDELL has served on the Ellijay City Council since November, 1997. Ruth had a rewarding career as an educator for thirty-eight years. From education she transitioned into various community volunteer and leadership capacities. As a council member she has served as Mayor Pro Tem, President of Region 1 of the Georgia Municipal Association and on the Georgia Municipal Association Board of Directors. Presently she serves as a Council representative on the Better Hometown Board, the Gilmer County Kids Kottage Commission, Gilmer County Family Connection Collaborative and Commission, and the Gilmer County and Regional Library Boards of Trustees. She was selected as Gilmer County 1999 Citizen of the Year and Gilmer County 2000 People of the Century. Ruth states that she supports progressive development of the Downtown Ellijay area and will continue to be especially responsive to the needs of the residential and commercial communities.
AL FULLER is serving his second term as city council member since his election in 2000.
KATHRYN LANCEY is serving her third term as city council member since her election in 1997.
